JOB SUMMARY
Candidates are expected to teach Information Technology courses for undergraduate students while meeting USEK’s requirements for excellence in teaching, research, and service to the University and community.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
- Design and teach teach Information Technology courses at the undergraduate level
- Meet the requirements for excellence in teaching set by USEK
- Supervise student’s research master thesis
- Engage in research/publication and/or creative activities
- Supervise student’s internships and practical school-teaching education
- Advise, coach and mentor students
- Keep course portfolio documents required for program review and quality/accreditation processes
- Participate in committee assignments at the department, Faculty and university levels
- Participate in student recruitment
- Work as part of a team and to be open-minded and cooperative
- Participate in professional development activities
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE
- Doctorate/PhD degree in Information Technology with expertise in one of the following fields: Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity, Software development, Information Systems
- Demonstrated ability or potential for excellence in teaching, research, and service to the university and to the profession
- Relevant teaching experience in higher education using English as the language of instruction
- Research/publications and/or creative activities in the areas of computer sciences
- International scientific publications in the area of expertise
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion
- Demonstrated ability or potential to secure external funds for research/projects
- Demonstrated ability to integrate technology and teach courses online
- Demonstrated ability to provide academic and career advising for students
