JOB SUMMARY

The Director of the Alumni Relations Office provides strategic leadership for the development, coordination, and expansion of USEK’s global alumni engagement ecosystem. The incumbent oversees the design and implementation of alumni programs that strengthen lifelong relationships between the University and its alumni community locally and internationally.


This role ensures the effective coordination of alumni chapters worldwide, alumni committees, ambassadors, and membership networks. Through strategic outreach, communications, and engagement initiatives, the incumbent positions alumni as key partners in advancing the University’s mission, supporting student success, promoting institutional reputation, and contributing to philanthropic and professional development initiatives.


RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS


Strategic Leadership and Institutional Alignment:

  1. Develops and implements a comprehensive alumni relations strategy aligned with the University’s institutional priorities and advancement objectives.
  2. Positions alumni as strategic partners in promoting the University’s mission, reputation, and development.
  3. Establishes measurable goals and KPIs for alumni engagement, participation, and outreach.
  4. Oversees all alumni relations programs and initiatives implemented by the Alumni Relations Office.
  5. Represents the University in alumni events, regional alumni meetings, and international networks.
  6. Serves as the principal liaison between alumni leadership and the University’s administration.
  7. Strengthens the global reputation of the University through active alumni engagement and representation.


Alumni Outreach and Global Chapter Coordination:

  1. Oversees the development, coordination, and growth of alumni chapters locally and internationally, ensuring alignment with the University’s engagement strategy.
  2. Coordinates the activities of alumni chapters worldwide.
  3. Supports the governance and operations of chapters, including collaboration with chapter presidents, vice presidents, and executive members.
  4. Facilitates communication and collaboration between alumni chapters worldwide and the central Alumni Relations Office.
  5. Develops outreach initiatives that reconnect with alumni communities abroad and strengthen USEK’s global alumni network.
  6. Promotes alumni participation in mentoring, networking, and professional opportunities that connect alumni with students and faculty.
  7. Establishes frameworks that encourage alumni ambassadors to represent the University in their regions.


Alumni Communications and Engagement:

  1. Develops and oversees a comprehensive alumni communications strategy across digital platforms.
  2. Promotes alumni achievements, stories, and professional milestones to strengthen institutional pride.
  3. Ensures consistent engagement with alumni through newsletters, social media, and alumni platforms.
  4. Maintains effective communication channels between the University, alumni chapters, committees, and ambassadors.


Alumni Programs, Membership, and Community Development:

  1. Oversees alumni membership programs and engagement initiatives associated with the USEK Alumni Society structure.
  2. Supports the development and engagement of alumni across membership categories.
  3. Develops targeted programs and engagement opportunities tailored to each membership tier.
  4. Encourages alumni participation in mentorship programs, volunteering, professional networking, and philanthropic initiatives.


Events and Alumni Engagement Initiatives:

  1. Oversees the planning and implementation of alumni events, including reunions, networking events, conferences, and regional alumni gatherings.
  2. Encourages collaboration between alumni chapters and the University in organizing events locally and internationally.
  3. Ensures that alumni events support engagement, institutional visibility, and community building.


Partnerships and Institutional Collaboration:

  1. Strengthens collaboration between alumni and key University stakeholders, including academic units, the Career Center, the Advancement Office, and student organizations.
  2. Builds relationships with corporations, organizations, and institutional partners that support alumni engagement initiatives.
  3. Facilitates alumni participation in career development initiatives, internships, and professional mentorship programs.


Data Management and Alumni Insights:

  1. Oversee the strategic management of the alumni CRM and alumni databases.
  2. Ensure accurate segmentation of alumni data for engagement and outreach initiatives.
  3. Use analytics and reporting tools to assess the effectiveness of alumni programs and initiatives.


Team Leadership and Office Management:

  1. Leads and supervises the Alumni Relations Office team.
  2. Ensures effective coordination between staff, alumni committees, and volunteers.
  3. Promotes a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the office.


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  8. Event strategy and program development: Knowledge of organizing alumni events, networking programs, mentorship initiatives, and professional development activities.
  9. Higher education institutional structure: Familiarity with University governance, academic structures, and student engagement ecosystems.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE

  1. A bachelor’s degree, preferably combined with extensive professional experience in alumni relations, advancement, or external affairs.
  2. A master’s degree in Higher Education Management, Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration, International Relations, or a related field is a plus.
  3. 6-8+ years of progressive professional experience in alumni relations, advancement, stakeholder engagement, external relations, or a similar leadership function.
  4. Experience in strategic program development, international alumni engagement, and team leadership is strongly preferred.
